Figueroa\s jumping mistakes cost him fourth place in first Grand

Europe On Ice on X: "Top 3?? after the Grand Prix de France women

Only senior grand prixers underperformed; first medal back in sixth event

Underin Lee, women"s singles figure skating

South Korean figure women"s singles ace Lee Hae-in (Sehwa Girls" High School) failed to win a medal at her first Senior Grand Prix of the season after a series of jumping mistakes.

Lee received a technical score of 61.92, a performance score of 62.74 and a total score of 124.66 in the women"s single free skate at the third round of the 2023-2024 International Ice Sports Federation (ISU) Senior Grand Prix in Angers, France, on Thursday (Feb. 4).

She added a short program score of 66.30 to her final total of 190.96 to finish fourth in the final standings.

Lee is South Korea"s figure women"s singles ace who has earned valuable results at every major international competition this year, including winning the ISU Four Continents Championships in February and taking silver at the ISU World Championships in March.

However, Lee has had a particularly bad luck with the Senior Grand Prix.

He has failed to medal in every Senior Grand Prix event he has competed in since the 2021-2022 season, and he couldn"t break the jinx at this event either.

The jumps were the problem. Lee landed the first task, a double axel-triple toe-loop combination jump, cleanly, but faltered on the landing of the next task, a triple lutz-triple toe-loop combination jump.

Her steps were tangled and she touched the ground with her hands, deducting 2.61 points from her performance score (GOE).

Lee recovered with a triple loop, triple salco, and then a flying camel spin (level 4), a flying change foot combination spin (level 4), and an elegant correo sequence.

But on the first jump of the second half, which carries a 10% penalty, he made another big mistake.

He tried to land a triple lutz-double toe-loop-double loop combination jump, but his rotation came loose on the first lutz jump and he landed a single (one rotation).

On the next jump, a triple flip, the appellant received an Attention to Edge.

He finished his performance with a double axel, a step sequence (level 4), and a change foot combination spin (level 4), and he couldn"t keep his head up for a long time as if he was disappointed.

Lee will try to win a medal again at the sixth edition of the competition in Osaka, Japan, starting on March 24.

The women"s singles title was won by Isabo Levito of the United States with a score of 203.22. The silver medal went to Belgium"s Nina Pinzarone (198.80 points) and the bronze to Japan"s Rion Sumiyoshi (197.76 points).

Sumiyoshi stole the show with her clean execution of a quadruple toe-loop jump around four turns.

According to Japanese media outlet Sportshochi, this is only the second time a Japanese female single athlete has landed a four- 19???03 turn jump in a sanctioned competition, following Miki Ando (retired) in 2002.

All 23,750 tickets sold for Game 1 of the Korean Series

LG seeks first overall title in 29 years since 1994

The best-of-seven Korean Series (KS) will kick off in front of a sold-out crowd.

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced on Sunday that Game 1 of the KS between the KT Wiz and LG Twins at 6:30 p.m. at Jamsil Stadium is sold out. All 23,750 tickets were sold by 1:30 p.m., five hours before the start of the game.

The cumulative attendance for the 10 games this fall is 178,798. Four games were sold out, including today"s game.

LG, one of the KBO"s most popular clubs, finished first in the regular season for the first time since 1994. Fans are also responding enthusiastically to the team"s challenge to win the title for the first time in 29 years.

As soon as KS tickets went on sale on the 6th, the ticket purchase website crashed. Fans who survived the "ticketing war" will fill Jamsil Stadium on that day.

LG, which has been in the KS for 21 years since 2002, is determined to resolve the long-standing "Han" this year.

After winning the franchise"s first unified title in 2021, KT finished second in the regular season this year and made it to the KS through the playoffs. They will face LG with the goal of reclaiming the throne after a two-year absence. 19???03
